Publishing Fraud Alert
At The Empire Publishers, we recognize the importance of compelling narratives. Regrettably, we've identified instances of scammers posing as literary agents, editors, marketers, and other literary service providers, specifically targeting self-published authors and writers. These fraudsters often feign interest from TEP in publishing an author's work. We've observed cases where scammers misuse The Empire Publishers logo and names of our publishers, editors, and even the CEO to fabricate fraudulent documents, such as deceptive "letters of interest." These documents are not genuine, and the use of our logo and names is unauthorized. It is advised not to trust such documents, especially if shared in the form of screenshots. We want to clarify that The Empire Publishers has no affiliations with, endorses, or has any relationship with the following entities:
Tips:
If you receive contact from someone claiming to be TEP on social media, ask them to send you an email from their TEP address and pay close attention to the domain.
If you are unsure of the identity of the sender of a communication, do not click on any links.
Even if you believe you know the sender, before clicking any links in emails hover your cursor over the link to see the full link and ensure it leads to a legitimate website.
Look out for a sense of urgency, threatening words, spelling errors, incorrect punctuation, or strange spacing. These are clues that an email is a phishing email and not from The Empire Publishers.
TEP will not ask for or need a book trailer or promotional video as part of a manuscript submission.
If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of an email purporting to be from a TEP employee or claiming a connection to TEP, you may contact us to check.
